Today we’ll be looking at seven essential systems you need to build up your business, even if you’re working from home. The thing I love the most about building a business is that it’s so raw and real. By developing better ways to help and serve people, every business owner is building something to last and grow. Every part of your business whirrs like a complex network of cogs turning to keep things on the up and up. That’s what building a business is all about!

Working from home doesn’t mean this needs to stop. Even if you and your team are working from home you can go right ahead to scale your business. You can continue to build the resources and systems you need right from your couch or dining table.

Product/service:

Let’s start with your products and services. It’s not enough to sell something. Even a simple sale is a complex network of systems. Ask yourself: how is the service delivered? How is it bundled with other things to add value? How is the customer educated in its use? Having a really good look at what you offer and having robust systems around delivery is an essential part of building a scalable business.

Sales & Marketing:

The second area to build systems for is marketing and sales. The last thing you want to be is the world’s world’s best kept secret. Build systems to keep up with your advertising, marketing and content through social media. Create steps to generate leads and turn them into prospects. Systems like these are essential to building a business, and you can build them from home.

Delivery:

The third area to systemise is the delivery of your products or services. How are you actually facilitating the sale? What are you doing to get your product or service out of your hands and into their hands? It is really important to have very clear steps in place, so you’re not the only one who gets stuck with delivery. Your team can get involved and help you.

Client Nurture:

Client nurture is also a key area to systemise if you’re looking to create sustainable business growth. 80% of people claim they’ll quit doing business with a company after a poor customer service experience. This makes the development of systems essential. Set them up to continue adding value to your current clients and keep you front of mind. Success comes from finding ways for people to continue to do business with you and referring you to others.

The next system that you can be building from home is around your team care. What are you doing to facilitate communication with your team regularly? What resources do you have to keep your finger on the pulse of your expenditure? It’s important to have systems in place to map out exactly where you’re getting your revenue from. This will allow you to make smart choices about the best ways to invest your cash in the future.

Maintenance & Growth:

Finally, we come to building systems for maintenance and growth. How are you going to keep all of those previous six systems up and running? How will you continue to build those systems and facilitate new business growth? All of it needs to be developed, and you do not need to be in an office to do it. You can work with your team and others to support you, right from your home.
